These two attached photos have been loaned by Jack Holmes via John Abbott and show buildings to the northern end of Church Street on the western side c.1960.

The first one shows Harston's Bakehouse which traded in the first half of the1900s. The second is a closer view of cottages that were to the right of the bakery.  All the buildings were demolished around the mid 1960s. At the end of the row of cottages can be seen the small shop where Mr Swain traded as a Butcher and later the building was used by Mr Bob Potts as a General Stores. Mr Swain lived in the cottage that was next to the shop and later when Mr Potts started his business he lived in the same cottage.
